2019 presidency: Emulate Goodluck Jonathan, concede defeat if you lose – Atiku tells Buhari Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to emulate his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, who, in 2015, walked the talk of ‘political ambition not worth the blood of any Nigerian’ when he conceded defeat in the last presidential election. Atiku, an ex-Vice President, gave the advice on Tuesday in a statement issued by his media Adviser, Paul Ibe, in Abuja. His counsel came as a reaction to President Buhari’s New Year message in which he said the 2019 election should not be a do-or-die affair. Israel’s Red Sea Airport To Open In January Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu/AFP Israel plans to inaugurate a new international airport in the south of the country near the Red Sea later this month, the transport minister announced Tuesday. The Ramon airport will begin with only domestic flights before gradually moving toward full operation, Transport Minister Israel Katz said in a statement. The inauguration ceremony will be held on January 21 with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in attendance. Initially, domestic flights will be operated by the Arkia and Israir carriers. A timeframe was not given for when the airport will be fully operational. Construction costs for the airport have been put at 1.7 billion shekels ($455 million, 395 million euros). Work got underway in 2013 but original specifications for the project were revised to allow for upgrades. The airport will be some 18 kilometers (11 miles) from the Israeli Red Sea resort of Eilat and

Boko Haram: How frustration made me criticise Jonathan – Gov. Shettima The Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has revealed that frustration as a result of been kept at arms length by the presidency under the Goodluck Jonathan administration and the suspicion of his administration in Borno state with regards to the crisis of Boko Haram, informed his criticism of the past administration.
