Watch Moment Ex-Ghanaian President, Jerry Rawlings Was Controlling Traffic (Photo+Video)

Image
Former Ghanaian President, Jerry John Rawlings was seen busily controlling a heavy traffic situation on the Accra-Prampram road. The Former military ruler got out of his car to intervene on the heavy traffic situation that seem to have halted the road and brought the cars to a stand still. Rawlings, according to a close associate, has noticed the indiscipline on several occasions and therefore decided to “step out and direct traffic and bring a sense of orderliness”. He has since made a passionate appeal to a joint police and military operation to be posted to the area to manage traffic and ensure discipline. Mr Rawlings was seen in a picture making some gestures to drivers and road users in the middle of the road. The United States President, Donald Trump has declared that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) will be eliminated from its last territory in Syria by Thursday. Trump, who spoke at the White House, announced that the last of the Islamic State’s territory in Syria was currently being liberated by US-backed forces and that the situation would be resolved “by tonight”. While holding maps of ISIS’ territory in Iraq and Syria before and after his election, Trump pointed to a very small portion of the map that was currently being held by the terrorist group. The U.S. leader then declared that by the end of Thursday, “the mission will be complete”. “I brought this out for you because – this is a map of everything in the red, this was on election night in 2016. “Everything red is ISIS. When I took over, it was a mess. “Now, on the bottom, that’s the exact same: There is no red. In fact, there is actually a tiny spot, which will be gone by tonight. “So this is ISIS on El

Ex-Senate President, Ebute writes Donald Trump over US reports on Nigerian Army, Buhari govt

Image
Former Senate President, Chief Ameh Ebute, has written the United States, US, President, Donald Trump over the recent report by the US Department of State on corruption and human rights violation under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government. I believe certain assumptions as contained in the report on Nigeria, which hinged on human rights violations by the Nigerian Army did not reflect the reality in our country under the Buhari Presidency in Nigeria. A report by the US Department of State titled, “2018 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices,” accused the Nigerian government and the military of arbitrary and unlawful killings. However, the former Senate President faulted the report, saying, “certain assumptions as contained in the report on Nigeria, which hinged on human rights violations by the Nigerian Army did not reflect the reality in our country under the Buhari Presidency.” In an open letter to Trump titled, “Time To Break off The Disintegration Of Ni

Libya stuns Olympic Eagles 2-0

Image
Nigeria began the defence of their AFCON U-23 title with a shocking 2-0 defeat in the hands of Libya at the Stade de Ben Guerdane yesterday evening. Imama Amapakabo Coach Imama Amakpakabo’s midfield and attack were hugely dominated by foreign-based pros with the likes of Kelechi Nwakali, Taiwo Awoniyi, Samuel Chukwueze and a host of others on parade. The North Africans took the lead after just seven minutes when striker, Zakaria Alharaish scored to put his team ahead following a quick move which startled the Dream Team. Things got worse for Nigeria after goalkeeper Adamu Abubakar was dismissed in the closing stages of the first half for handling outside the area as the Nigeria defence showed some nervy and uninspiring displays while attempting to close down their pacy opponents. While Dennis Bonaventure made way in a tactical change after the set back, Orewale Oremade was brought on to mind the goal but that did little to stem the flow of the Libyans as they doubled their

Image
By Emma Una CALABAR—THE Muri Munene, Professor Hogan Itam, the King of Efut and Paramount Ruler of Calabar South Local Government Area, Cross River State, has been dethroned by a state High Court sitting in Calabar presided over by Justice Edem Koofreh. Justice Koofreh sacked the king in his judgment in a suit by Etubom Nyong Okon and five others against the recognition of Hogan Itam as the Muri Munene and President of Calabar South Traditional Rulers’ Council by the Cross River State Government. The Etuboms had sought the removal of the king on the grounds that his assumption of the throne contravened Sections 17(2), 18, 19 and 20 of the Cross River State Traditional Rulers Law of 2004. Judicial symbol The claimants had argued that by the Cross River State Traditional Rulers Council Laws of 2004, the paramount ruler of Calabar South can only be selected by and from among the clan heads in Calabar South. PSG to pay £68m to sign Kroos

Image
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly prepared to pay £68million to sign Toni Kroos from Real Madrid this summer. Toni Kroos In the wake of their shock Champions League elimination by Manchester United at the last-16 stage, the French champions are looking to refresh their squad. With Adrien Rabiot expected to leave the club, German midfielder Kroos has emerged as a potential transfer target. According to OK Diario and Sport, PSG would be willing to pay £68m for him and also offer a 50 per cent pay rise on his current deal at Real. However, the return of Zinedine Zidane as Real’s manager could scupper their plans as the Frenchman sees Kroos as an important part of the team. Kroos was a key part of the three successive Champions League triumphs achieved under Zidane but his form dipped following a change of manager last summer. Kroos has only scored one goal in 36 matches this season and supplied five assists in all competitions as Real have struggled for momentum. Sourc

Image
The Senator representing Bayelsa east in the upper chambers of the National Assembly, Ben Murray Bruce, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to recognize Tanitoluwa Adewumi (the 8 years Nigerian boy who is seeking asylum in the US after he and his parents were chased out of ”volatile” North East zone in Nigeria by Boko Haram) for making Nigeria proud by dominating the game of Chess in New York, USA. Speaking via his Twitter handle, he said if the Presidency refuses to honor him, they might lose him to the USA just like Anthony Joshua was lost to England. What he said: We refused to celebrate @anthonyfjoshua, and England took him from us. Now God has given us a genius in the form of 8 year old Tanitoluwa Adewumi.
