Gumi says politicians are not different from prostitutes

Ahmad Gumi, Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, says there is no difference between politicians and prostitutes. According to Leadership, Gumi made the statement while responding to questions from an audience after delivering a paper at a programme organised by the Good Shepherd Major Seminary in Kaduna. A member of the audience dominated by seminarians and Catholic priests had reportedly asked if Islamic clerics have influence over Muslims who are politicians. While responding, Gumi reportedly said politicians often behave like prostitutes, hence they jump from one political party to another. “Most politicians lack ideology and that is why they jump from one political party to another and there is no difference between them and the prostitutes,” he reportedly said. APC crisis: Atiku speaks on Okorocha ‘dumping’ ruling party

The Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, has identified why his counterpart from Imo State, Rochas Okorocha has not dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC. Bagudu disclosed that Okorocha was still a member of the APC because he respects the party and President Muhammadu Buhari. Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the governor said though Okorocha may have been aggrieved with his travails in the party, he remained a member of APC. JAMB to release 2019 UTME results on Saturday

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it would release the results of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Saturday. Is-haq Oloyede, the board’s registrar, disclosed this to journalists on Friday in Abuja. According to him, the board will meet and consider the details available to be announced to the general public. “We are releasing our results tomorrow, we are having a meeting today to consider what to put out,” he said. The 2019 UTME was held from April 11 to April 18 with over 1.8 million registered candidates. Since then, the board is yet to release the results. JAMB explained that it would first screen the entire candidates’ results to weed out those who were involved in any form of malpractice during the examination. Emir Sanusi: Kano princes reject Ganduje’s offer to head new emirate

Three Kano princes have rejected an offer for appointment as Emir of Bichi, one of the four new emirates created Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on May 8 amid his face-off with the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II. It was reported that the governor had a meeting with Wamban Kano, Aminu Bayero; Chiroman Kano, Nasiru Bayero and district heads of Rano, Gaya and Karaye at the Government House on Thursday night. The offer to serve as Emir of Bichi was first made to Chiroman Kano Nasiru Bayero, who rejected outrightly. The governor then pushed the offer to Chiroma’s elder brother, Aminu Bayero, who also turned it down. Police Recover Four Bodies From Septic Tank In Ikorodu

The Lagos State Police Command has discovered and exhumed four decomposing bodies from a septic tank in Ikorodu area of the metropolis. According to the police, the bodies are those of Bureau De Change operators who were allegedly murdered by suspected fraudsters who swindled them of huge amount of money. EFCC lacks power to investigate Rivers Government – Wike

Wike Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has reiterated that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has no powers to investigate the financial transactions of the State without vacating the Court judgment secured by the administration of former Governor Peter Odili. He said that before EFCC could investigate the Rivers State Government, it must first vacate the Federal High Court judgment that declared that it could not investigate the financial transactions of the Rivers State Government,when former EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu was Chairman.
