President Maduro says US is trying to assassinate him. The United States imposed sanctions Friday on six Venezuelan security officials for obstructing aid, which Washington had tried to force in as part of its effort to topple President Nicolas Maduro. “We are sanctioning members of Maduro’s security forces in response to the reprehensible violence, tragic deaths, and unconscionable torching of food and medicine destined for sick and starving Venezuelans,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a statement. The six include Major General Richard Jesus Lopez Vargas, the commander of the Venezuelan National Guard, and Jesus Maria Mantilla Oliveros, commander of a unit tasked by Maduro with reinforcing security on the Brazilian border, the Treasury Department said. The sanctions freeze any assets in the United States by the six security officials as well as US financial dealings with them. Champions League: Only two clubs can stop Barcelona from winning title – Ter Stegen

Image
Barcelona goalkeeper, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has named two clubs that can stop his side from winning this season’s Champions League. Ter Stegen stated that Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid could stop Ernesto Valverde’s men from winning the trophy this season. Barcelona were eliminated from the Champions League by Italian side, AS Roma last season but Ter Stegen believes both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are “dangerous” teams that can prevent the Catalan club from achieving their goal this season. Speaking on teams that can stop Barcelona in the Champions League, Ter Stegen told Goal: “The elimination against Roma last season was extremely bitter for us, there was certainly more possibilities for us. “To win the Champions League is our big goal this season. It’s important to keep this goal in mind. We still have a lot of hard games to play. The advantage is comfortable, but Real and Atletico are always dangerous. “To defend well [is the key to winning the Champions League]...

An old man appears to have finally found the perfect solution to stop the thugs who had been troubling his home for years. The 83-year-old South African man identified as Sefako Kgadibe claims that his powerful statues keep him safe. He said he lived alone and spent much money on buying charms for protection against thugs. But now he has built six statues that are on guard around his yard and the problem is solved. “I had sleepless nights with knocking at my door, but when I opened there was no one. I saw footprints and got charm but nothing helped,” he said. Then one night he had a dream and the ancestors told him to create statues. “Since then I’ve had peace. I believe the statues chase the thugs away and nothing has been stolen from my yard. “My statues are not just art, they are my companions. I’m also willing to build and sell to those who want protection,” he said. Source:https://samueljackson12.blogspot.com/2019/03/83-year-old-man-claims-his-juju.html

Food Shortages Threaten 80% Of Venezuela Homes – Research

Eight out of 10 Venezuelan households are at risk of food shortages in the country’s economic crisis, a study has found. The study by three Venezuelan universities indicated that 80 percent of households were “at risk of food insecurity because 90 percent of the population do not have enough income to buy food,” said one of the researchers, Anitza Freitez of Andres Bello Catholic University. Hyperinflation and shortages of basic foods and medicine have led to a volatile political crisis in Venezuela. Opposition leader Juan Guaido has declared himself the country’s leader in a challenge to socialist President Nicolas Maduro, who has blocked foreign aid shipments from entering the country. The study released on Wednesday by the Andres Bello, Venezuela Central, and Simon Bolivar universities found that half of all households were in a state of what it called “multidimensional poverty.” It indicated that only half of all Venezuelan children were going regularly to school, due ...
