Confusion trails Teleology’s alleged withdrawal from 9mobile By Prince Osuagwu (Hi-Tech Editor) There appears to be some confusion in the news that new owner of 9mobile Teleology Holdings has withdrawn from the deal as the local arm, Teleology Nigeria, dismisses the story. The news broke early yesterday morning that Teleology Holdings Inc, represented by former MTN Chief Executive, Adrian Wood had withdrawn from the 9mobile deal, citing delays in effecting important contractual agreements by the local partner, Teleology Nigeria. Finally, 9Mobile goes to Teleology The two arms appear to be trading tackles. While Teleology Holdings is accusing the local partners of blocking it from concluding a management services contract, the local partner was short of calling the international arm a fraud, saying it does not want t...

With rallies and protests slated to be held in all the states of the federation, 2019 presents a unique opportunity for the labour movement to enhance the strategy for the improvement of workers’ welfare. While some labour leaders have described 2018 as a year full of motion without movement, others said it was indeed the most traumatic for workers, especially given the failure of the Federal Government to enact and implement the new national minimum wage of N30,000. Notwithstanding the continued fight for decent work and fair wages for workers, the organised labour has expressed its determination to ensure it overcomes the many challenges confronting it, either thro...

CBN vs MTN: In conclusion MTN It was the night of Christmas Eve when the whole house was still and even the drop a pin could be heard. But the bigwigs at the Central Bank of Nigeria and mobile network operator MTN were concluding the long-drawn out matter of the latter’s remittances and they both released statements. It was at the peak of Christmas, so it would probably have been missed by a few people. While the difference in the perspective of both organisations was remarkable, what was clear from both versions is that the matter had been resolved and MTN would no longer be required to reverse its historical dividend payments to its shareholders. However, the CBN maintained that the proceeds from the preference share private placement were irregular because they were based on Certificates of Capital Importation in respect of which only an approval-in-principle, not final approval, had been given by the CBN. The resolution of this leg of the matter is that MTN wi...

It has been said by even international observers of the recent governorship election in Osun State that in s...
