Transfer deadline day: Inter Milan slam Arsenal over Perisic chase

Image
Inter Milan boss, Luciano Spalletti, has criticised Arsenal’s brief pursuit of Ivan Perisic and says the Croatian winger had been “conned” by the Gunners. Perisic handed in a transfer request, when he was made aware of Arsenal’s interest, missing the defeat against Torino and ordered to train by himself. The Gunners, however, were only prepared to do a loan deal without a compulsory option to buy. And Spalletti feels Arsenal’s interest was never entirely serious but it still unsettled the 29-year-old winger. “There was this story on the market, but he is a professional, understands his role and yesterday it was already a very different mood. “These things happen in the transfer window, the player received an impressive proposal and was tempted. “However, he then realised it was not a true offer, that he’d been conned, and took a step back. “Now he’ll resume training and as soon as his mind is back fully on Inter, we’ll let him play,” Spalletti told RAI Sport. Nigeria’s debt may increase to N24trn, says APBN

Image
The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), has cautioned the Federal Government on the dangers of borrowing to finance the 2019 Budget, saying the country’s total debt could increase from N22.4trillion to N24trillion. Speaking in at media briefing in Abuja, APBN President, Olumuyiwa Ajibola, noted that with a Budget proposal of N8.83trillion, and an overall deficit proposal of about N1.86trillion, there is an expectation of financing the shortfall in revenue through foreign and domestic borrowing. APC’s wrongheaded strategy towards Niger Delta

Image
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi • Why party’s numbers may not add up With barely two weeks to the much-anticipated 2019 general election cycle, it could be said that all cards are literally on the table and the ball is now on the court of the electorate and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). On the score of the presidential poll, it has become clear that the contest is stiff between the two main political platforms, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the former heavy weight champion, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which, though displaced in 2015, sees 2019 as a rematch to turn the table in its favour. In the build up to the decisive electoral contest, it could be seen that APC is struggling with its strategy of meeting PDP challenge in the South-south geopolitical zone, particularly the decisive Niger Delta. In the beginning PRIOR to the 2015 election, APC received great impetus from the then governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi C
