Door-to-door campaign for President Buhari begins in Zaria Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim, the Chairman, Zaria Local Government Council, Kaduna State, on Sunday says the council has began the door-to-door campaign for re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov. Nasiru el-Rufa’i of the state. He disclosed this during the presentation of projects certificates to different contractors at various units in Dutsen-Abba ward of Zaria Local Government. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the chairman had presented the contractors to community leaders of each unit to enable the community to monitor and follow-up for proper execution of the projects. NAN also reports that the exercise signaled the take-off of the projects by the contractors. Ibrahim said the door-to-door campaign exercise initiated by the council was meant to attract bulk votes for the incumbent president, the governor as well as APC candidates in other elective positions. Buhari May Pick New IGP From South-East President Buhari and Ibrahim Idris As the tenure of the Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Kpotun Idris expires next week, on reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60, President Muhammadu Buhari may soon appoint a new IGP, following his promise to act on the matter. Buhari had said in an interview with Arise TV that though the choice of a new service chief evokes unnecessary competition, he would act on the matter of Idris’ imminent retirement. Idris’ tenure expires on January 15, 2019, when he turns 60. President Buhari is still putting close to his chest the final decision on whether he would extend Idris’ tenure or appoint a new IGP. If the President has to choose a new IGP, sources said he may look in the direction of the South-east. The outgoing IGP Idris is from Lavun, Kutigi in Niger State. In the South-east zone, there are two known top officers, one a Deputy Inspector-General of Police, a woman, and the other a
