And Higuain showed why he has a stellar scoring record over the past decade in Spanish and Italian football with two excellent finishes to open his Premier League account. “He’s a great striker. Barcelona vs Real Madrid: Messi injured ahead of Copa del Rey semi-final

Image
Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi, is a doubt for Wednesday’s Copa del Rey’s semi-final against Real Madrid, after sustaining a thigh injury in the 2-2 draw with Valencia on Saturday. Messi scored twice, as the hosts came from 2-0 down to earn a point and extend their lead at the top of LaLiga to six points. It took his tally to 11 in the last nine matches in all competitions. However, it was not without cost as he needed treatment for what appeared to be a dead leg shortly after equalising. Manager Ernesto Valverde does not know if he will recover in time for the fixture. “(Messi) has a small problem. I can’t say exactly what problem he has, I don’t know,’ he told a press conference after the match. “We will have to wait to see what medical staff say. If he’s in good shape, he’ll play on Wednesday. We will wait. I imagine it’s nothing, but we’ll wait a few hours. Leo didn’t ask me to sub him off,” Valverde told reporters after the game. Nissan Cancels Investment Plan For UK Plant

Image
Japanese car manufacturer Nissan announced Sunday it was cancelling plans to build its X-Trail SUV at its plant in northeast England despite Brexit assurances from the government. “While we have taken this decision for business reasons, the continued uncertainty around the UK’s future relationship with the EU is not helping companies like ours to plan for the future,” Nissan Europe Chairman Gianluca de Ficchy said in a statement. The car giant announced in 2016 that it planned to build the model at its plant in Sunderland, but will now assemble it instead at Nissan’s global production hub in Kyushu, Japan. “Other future models planned for Nissan Sunderland Plant — the next-generation Juke and Qashqai — are unaffected,” added the statement. “A model like X-Trail is manufactured in multiple locations globally, and can, therefore, be re-evaluated based on changes to the business environment,” said Hideyuki Sakamoto, Nissan’s executive vice president for manufacturing and

The Blues returned to winning ways with a 5-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday, following their 4-0 humiliation at Bournemouth. However, Abramovich is already losing patience with Sarri, whose side are locked in a three-way battle with Arsenal and United, for the final Champions League qualifying spot. Chelsea were reported to be interested in Pochettino last summer, before appointing Sarri to succeed Antonio Conte. Sarri made an instant impact at Stamford Bridge, but results and performances have dipped, since he suffered the first defeat of his reign against Pochettino’s Spurs side back in November. It would cost Abramovich around £50million in compensation, to prise the Argentine from North London and the former Southampton manager’s prefe
