1. ASUU: they will receive withheld salary, 50 billion has been mapped out for earned allowance, 170 billion for salary increment and 250 billion for revitalization. With all these, the strike was SUSPENDED conditionally. ASUU ARE AMONG THE WINNERS 2. Speaker House of Rep.: Femi took it upon himself to mediate between ASUU and the president. His effort paid. The burden of financing higher institution has been partially transfered to schools and by extension to students and parents thereby partly relieving FG. ASUU SUSPENDS IT'S STRIKE ACTION

1. The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) held an emergency meeting at the Comrade Festus lyayi National Secretariat, University of Abuja, Abuja, on Thursday, 13th October, 2022. The meeting reviewed developments since the Union declared an indefinite strike action on 29th August, 2022. 2. During the intervening period, the Minister of Labour and Employment, through a referral, approached the National Industrial Court (NIC) for the interpretation of "the provision of sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 18 (1) of the Trade Dispute Act, Cap T8 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, whether the on-going prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities which started since 14th February, 2022 is legal even after statutory apprehension by the Minister of Labour and Employment?" The police in Bayelsa state have paraded John Ewa, the suspected kidnap kingpin recently arrested in the state. A video of Ewa showing off cash and after his arrest went viral over the weekend. Parading the suspect and his accomplices before newsmen today September 26, the state Commissioner of Police, said that on December 8, one Akeeb Oladele Olushola ‘m’ 48, a Manager of a new generation Bank, was kidnaped at his residence at Old Commissioners Quarters Opolo. He was released on the 12th December after paying a ransom of Eighty (N80) Million Naira. He said similarly, Danjuma Omeje, 41, a Manager of a new generation Bank in Yenagoa was kidnaped at his residence at Okaka, Yenagoa, on 30th June 2022. He was later released on 14th July 2022 after paying a ransom of 60 million naira - thirty (N30) Million Naira cash and US Dollar equivalent of thirty (N30) Million Naira. Lagos seals event centre where petrol was shared as souvenir

 Lagos State Government Saturday sealed the premises of an event centre where petrol was shared as souvenirs. Officials of the Lagos Safety Commission and the Rapid Response Squad sealed Havillah Event Centre, Oniru, for contravening public safety rules for allowing sharing of the petroleum product in jerrycans. The senior special assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State on New Media, Jubril Gawat, said the Lagos State police commissioner has ordered the arrest of those involved. “There is no doubt that this action is dangerous and can lead to loss of lives and property,” Lagos State commissioner for information Gbenga Omotoso said in a statement earlier on Saturday.
