#NigeriaElections2023: Peter Obi wins Nasarawa

  The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has scored the highest votes in Saturday’s presidential election in Nasarawa State. Obi secured 191,361 votes in the contest with his closest challenger, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 172,922 votes while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party scored 147,093 votes. The presidential election results were collated and announced in Lafia on Monday by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s collation officer in Nasarawa State, Prof. Ishaya Tanko. Tanko, who is the Vice Chancellor, University of Jos, Plateau State, added that the NNPP presidential candidate scored a total of 12,715 votes. The Collation Officer narrated that the total registered voters in the state were 2,552,716 while the total valid votes were 540,566. He added that the accredited voters in the state were 562,464 but the total votes cast were 556,937 while the rejected votes were 16,371. Credit: The PUNCH

  The Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Saturday, floored the presidential candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, and that of the major opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, at the Presidential Villa, Asokoro, Abuja. Obi won the highest total number of votes cast for the presidential candidates at all the 12 polling units observed by our correspondent at the Presidential Villa, Asokoro, Abuja, on Saturday. At polling unit 124 at the Presidential Villa, City Centre, FCT, with a total number of six registered voters, and a total of four votes cast, LP recorded two votes, the Peoples Democratic Party also recorded two votes, while the ruling All Progressives Congress recorded zero votes, with no invalid vote. Also at polling unit 125 at the Presidential Villa, City Centre, FCT, with a total number of 27 registered voters, and a total of 14 votes casted, LP recorded 10 votes, PDP one vote, and APC one vote, while two votes were ...

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, was on Saturday, unable to cast vote at his polling unit 7, Ward 9, Wimpey Junction, Rumuepirikom, Port Harcourt, Rivers State as the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System network failed. The governor arrived at his polling unit with his entourage.
