Release body of slain LASTMA official for burial, family urges police By Mod- [ Update Vanguard ] Lagos – The family of a LASTMA official who was allegedly shot dead by a policeman attached to SARS on Wednesday appealed for the release of the slain traffic officer’s body for proper burial. File Photo The deceased’s elder brother, Mr Aderemi Adeyemo, made the appeal when CSP Peter Gana,Officer-in-Charge of SARS in Lagos, paid the family a condolence visit. The deceased, Rotimi Adeyemo, was killed at Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos on Nov. 28 while on duty controlling traffic. “We want to avoid further damage and this is why we want the body to be released to us as soon as possible. “The deceased father aged 105 years has been threatening to come to Lagos for the body. ” We plead that you do something as regards the body as soon as possible,” he said. Senate Approves Establishment Of 4 Polytechnics, CoE & University of Technology By Mod- [ Update ]  Senate The Senate on Wednesday passed six bills seeking the establishment of same number of federal tertiary educational institutions in different parts of the country. The proposed institutions are four polytechnics, one college of education and one university of technology. The polytechnics are to be located in Mpu, Enugu State; Kwale in Delta, Kaltungo in Gombe State and Adikpo in Benue. On its part, the university known as City University of Technology would be hosted by Auchi in Edo, while the College of Education is to be sited in Omuo-Ekiti in Ekiti. The passage of the bills at plenary followed the consideration of the reports of the Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND presented by its Chairman, Sen. Jibrin Barau.
