Christmas: EFCC Declares War On Yahoo Boys Ahead of the Yuletide, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has launched total war on online fraudsters otherwise known as ‘Yahoo Boys’, The PUNCH has learnt. The operation codenamed ‘Cyber Storm’, will involve EFCC operatives monitoring suspicious transactions especially by youths who cannot explain their source of wealth. The commission will also deploy its agents in nightclubs and concerts where youths usually go to “pop” expensive champagne. The anti-graft agency will also be monitoring social media accounts of suspected fraudsters who usually show off their expensive cars and houses. Former Nigeria's Defence Chief Alex Badeh shot dead The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the death of former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Sabundu Badeh. In a statement signed late Tuesday in Abuja by Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola said Badeh died from gunshot wounds he sustained when his vehicle was attacked. Buhari rejects NASS’ approval for refund of N488.7bn to states President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected the National Assembly’s approval for refund of N488.7 billion to State Governments for projects they executed on behalf of the Federal Government. President Buhari Buhari communicated the decision through a letter read by the President of the Senate, Sen. Bukola Saraki, at plenary on Tuesday. The president said he rejected the National Assembly’s approval because it violated the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2007. He noted that whereas the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved a total of N487.8 billion for the purpose, the National Assembly jerked up the figure to N488.7 billion. He said the amount approved by the lawmakers was N890 million higher than that approved by FEC. Passenger, conductor died over N100 A bus conductor-passenger misunderstanding went awry in Lagos on Tuesday morning, leading to the death of the two people. According to eyewitnesses at the Five Star Bus Stop near Aswani Market, Isolo, where the incident occurred, said the passenger was stabbed by the conductor over a disagreement on N100 balance. According to eyewitnesses, the bus was heading to Aswani market area; the passenger opted to alight at the junction before the market and demanded his N100 change. The Guardian gathered that the conductor refused to hand over the change and allegedly threatened the passenger. As the argument got heated, the conductor took a knife from the wares of a Hausa man selling hardware by the roadside and stabbed the passenger, who died immediately. Passer-bys immediately attacked the conductor in return and set him ablaze. They also burnt the vehicle. The driver of the bus flew the scene. Trouble doubled along
