Lagos 2019: Ambode’e ex-commissioner in attendance as Accord candidate endorses Agbaje The Lagos State chapter of Accord Party has adopted the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Jimi Agbaje, for the 2019 election. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party endorsed and adopted Agbaje on Thursday at a programme to flag off its campaign activities in Ikeja. The endorsement followed the open pronouncement by the governorship candidate of the party, Mr Joseph Beckley, that he had agreed with the party to step down for Agbaje and support his ambition. Mr Wale Oluwo, who recently resigned from the cabinet of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode as Commissioner of Energy and Mineral Resources to join PDP, was with Agbaje at the occasion. Former United forward Ole Gunner Solskjaer has taken charge on an interim basis until the end of the season. Ezekwesili reacts to NBS’ confirmation that 21 million Nigerians unemployed The presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, has assured Nigerians that the increasing rate of unemployment in the country would stop if she emerged as the President. In a press statement issued on Thursday in reaction to the recent data released by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS), she warned Nigerians against voting for “candidates that have no idea of how to solve the challenges facing the country.” The ACPN presidential candidate reiterated that no fewer than 80 million Nigerians would be lifted out of poverty by her administration. She said that her administration would implement a productivity and competitiveness initiative that would create new opportunities and jobs in some key sectors. Accord Party endorses PDP governorship candidate , Agbaje By Victor Arjiromanus Members of the Accord Party, turned out in their number on Wednesday, to endorse the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP  governorship candidate for Lagos state, Mr Jimi Agbaje, with its governorship candidate,  Joseph Beckeley conceding to the former. The move according to Beckeley, was an indication of his party’s resolve to work with Agbaje,  in the general interest of Lagos State. Muslim Woman Decorates Pastor’s House Ahead Of Christmas In Kaduna (Photo) A Muslim woman decorated a Pastor’s house with Christmas trees, ahead of the Christian celebration in 2018. Ramatu Tijjani, who is also said to be a peace ambassador and interfaith professional mediator in Kaduna state, decorated the residence of Pastor Yohanna Buru, the general overseer of Christ Evangelical Church Sabon Tasha ahead of Christmas. Police unlawfully arraigns man in court for filming officer A 41 -year-old man, Annibong Annankwu, charged with filming policemen while they were performing their lawful duty, on Thursday appeared in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported. Police prosecutor Kenrich Nomayo said, Annankwu violated the provisions of sections 168 and 174 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The prosecutor said that the attitude of the occupants of the car prompted the police to search the car. Annankwu was charged with two counts of assault and breach of peace. The accused, who resides in Ikate, Surulere, Lagos, however, denied committing the offence. Magistrate Mrs T.O Ojo admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
