186,798 PVCs unclaimed in Bayelsa —INEC By Samuel Oyadongha YENAGOA—Bayelsa State office of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said no fewer than 186,798 Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, are unclaimed in the state. INEC PVCs To this end, the commission has commenced the distribution of PVCs at the various wards in the state. The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Cyril Omorogbe, who disclosed this in a chat in Yenagoa, said: “We have received 295,318 PVCs. Of this, we have distributed 108,520 PVCs with a balance of 186,798 PVCs left. “But the commission has commenced the distribution of PVCs at the various registration (ward) headquarters in the state to ameliorate the challenges face by coming to INEC offices in the local government areas to collect their PVCs.” He urged all “registered voters who have not collected their PVCs, those who did transfers and also cases of defaced and lost PVCs to visit the town halls of thei...

The Super Eagles are still the fourth best team on the African continent according to the latest ranking, which was shared on the website of the world’s football governing body. The ranking of the African teams has remained static, with Senegal still leading the pack, followed by Tunisia and Morocco. The Congo Democratic Republic is the fifth best team in Africa, according to the FIFA ranking. On a global scale, Belgium retained its number one spot ahead of World Cup winners, France. This follows the unsuccessful liquidity mop up efforts of the CBN last week, as the Open Market Operations (OMO) treasury bills auctioned were largely undersubscribed. For example, the N60 billion worth of OMO bills offered by the apex bank on Tuesday attracted just N10.7 billion subscription, despite the attractive rates on the offer. The 107-day bills were offered at 11.9 percent, while the 170-day and 317-day bills were offered at 13.5 percent and 15.0 percent respectively.
