Veteran Soldier Links Up With Nnamdi Kanu In Israel, Speaks On 1966 Military Coup. Colonel Emmanuel Nwobosi, one of the army majors that planned the first 1966 Military coup in Nigeria, has fully opened up on the issue 53 years after. The 80-year-old former soldier spoke on the coup in a broadcast made on January 15th, from Israel where the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) currently is. Atiku Bags Endorsement Of Lagos, South East, South South And Arewa Women Groups (photos) The Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, today, bagged the endorsement of South East, South South and Arewa women groups in Lagos. The cosmopolitan city has since come to be a home for all, with every ethnic group being represented. The women group who welcomed the wife of the aspirant, Mrs. Jennifer Douglas Abubakar and Margaret Peter Obi, rallied all available support for the women. The parley was hosted by Hon. UNIUYO Student Loses His Fingers To Fireworks After It Exploded While He Was Still Holding It (Graphic Photos) A student of the University of Uyo has found himself in serious trouble after his fingers were blown off by fireworks. He is now in need of emergency surgery. According to reports, the young man was celebrating on the 1st of January when the accident happened. The fireworks was believed to have seven rounds but as the boy held it in his hand and lit it, it exploded on the first round. He is reportedly a final year student in the faculty of education, UNIUYO. Wike sets up business grants for widows of war veterans PORT HARCOURT—Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has announced a N30 million business grant to widows and wives of fallen heroes and war veterans of the Nigerian Legion in the state. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike Speaking  during a  ceremony  to mark this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the courtyard of the Government House,  Port Harcourt, yesterday, Wike said the grant would help the women expand their businesses and cater for their families. The governor also announced a donation of N20 million to Rivers State Branch of Nigerian Legion, noting that the two donations will be effective after the legion make peace among their persons. Buhari unaware of CJN Onnoghen’s trial until Saturday -Osinbajo Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday said President Muhammadu Buhari was unaware of plans to arraign Walter Onnoghen, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), until Saturday evening. Osinbajo disclosed this on Wednesday at the third Online Publishers Association of Nigeria (OPAN) conference in Abuja. According to him, Buhari never had any fact of financial misdemeanor involving the CJN until Saturday evening. The Vice President, however, described the development as a sad situation. He said, ”I feel very sad that is going on at all. “President Muhammadu Buhari, his whole approach is that, institutions should just do their work. More than 12 hours after the assault began at Nairobi’s upscale 14 Riverside Drive complex, bursts of gunfire and blasts were heard in the area, undermining government assurances everything was under control. The shots rang out at around 3:30 a.m. local time (0030 GMT) as a group of around 150 workers was escorted from a building where they had sought refuge.
