APM alleges irregularities, rejects results in Ogun State

• PDP officials protest against polls outcome in Kaduna The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ogun State has charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to suspend announcement of Saturday’s gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections results in the state.Chairman of APM Campaign Organisation, Sarafa Isola, made the call yesterday at a media briefing in Abeokuta. Isola alleged that some hoodlums and unidentified men in uniform disrupted the votes counting process at various centres and falsified the result sheets in several council areas.The affected council areas, according to Isola are, Abeokuta-South, Abeokuta-North, Odeda, Ifo, Obafemi-Owode and all council areas in the Ogun-East Senatorial district. “In local governments areas like Sagamu, Odogbolu and Ogun Waterside where APM won, the results were changed to deny our party victory. Adesanmi, a renowned columnist, was onboard an Ethiopian Airlines plane en route Kenya from Ethiopia before it crashed barely 10 minutes after take-off. The scholar, a retired Nigerian ambassador who was on contract with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), as well as the over 140 others on the plane all perished in the tragic incident. PDP and its colour flags Recalled that the state Houses of Assembly elections held across the country on Saturday, but that of Mopamuro Local Government Area State Constituency was fixed for yesterday because the ballot papers for Ankpa Local Government Area were wrongly sent to the constituency. Confirming the boycott, former deputy governor of the state, Mr. Yomi Awoniyi, said the leadership of the party in Mopamuro Local Government Area, having consulted with the zonal and state leadership of the party hierarchy, had withdrawn from yesterday’s House of Assembly election. Buhari Commiserates With Ethiopian PM Over Plane Crash

The President has commiserated with the people and government of Ethiopia over the crash of the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET302 on Sunday, killing all 157 people on board. In a message on his twitter handle, President Muhammadu Buhari, praised the Ethiopian Airlines for its world acclaimed efficiency and successful operations over the years, describing the incident as sad. “I am profoundly saddened by the news of the crash involving @flyethiopian, one of the world’s most successful and efficient Airlines. On behalf of the Govt and People of Nigeria, I extend sincere condolences to PM Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia, and to all the countries that lost citizens,” he stated in the tweet. APC’s candidate Mai Mala Buni wins Yobe guber election

By Bala Ajiya The All Progressives Congress APC candidate Alhaji Mai Mala Buni has been declared officially winner of the 2019 governorship election in the state. Mai Mala Buni Announcing the results at the INEC headquarters in Damaturu in Yobe state capital, the Returning Officer, Professor Abubakar Musa Gundiri of the Federal University Wukari said that election was successfully concluded in all the 17 Local Government councils of the state . He said Mai Mala of APC recorded the highest vote with a total number of 444,013 to beat his opponent Alhaji Bello Iliya of the PDP who scored 95, 703 only. The Returning Officer described the election as free, fair and credible across the state just as he thanked all the stakeholders for the success of the exercise. – Governor Udom Emmanuel of Peoples Democratic Party has been declared winner of Akwa Ibom guber election – Emmanuel cruised to victory by winning 30 out of the 31 LGAs in the state – The governor defeated the APC candidate, Nsima Ekere, who got one LGA Governor Udom Emmanuel of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared the winner of the March 9 governorship election held in Akwa Ibom state. Emmanuel coasted to victory having won 30 out of the 31 local government areas in the state and was subsequently declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) state, Daily Trust reports. We gathered that Nsima Ekere, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won in only Essien Udim local government area of the state. APC's House Of Assembly member, Ezekiel Afon slumps and dies shortly after winning election in Plateau State

Ezekiel Bauda Afon, an All Progressives Congress member who was re-elected to the Plateau State House of Assembly has died.  Afon representing Pengana Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, was said to have slumped and died on Sunday afternoon at his residence in Jos, the state capital. The APC Secretary in the state, Bashir Sati confirmed the death of the lawmaker, whom he described as “a gentleman to the core, loving and a dedicated member of the party who served the state diligently.”  Late Afon was elected into the Plateau State House of Assembly in 2015 to represent Pengana Constituency of Bassa Local Government Area and was re-elected in the election that was held March 9, 2015, before his demise.
