Obafemi Awolowo University The Osun State Police command has confirmed the release of Prof Yinka Adegbehingbe, a lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife who was abducted by gunmen at Apomu town along Ife-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday. Spokesperson for the Police Command Mrs. Folasade Odoro confirmed the release of the abducted lecturer on Monday evening. The Public Relations Officer of OAU, Abiodun Olarewaju also confirmed that the lecturer was on the way to the campus in the company of security agencies, to be reunited with his family. Taxpayers in Nigeria Will hit 45m soon–FIRS

Tunde Fowler: FIRS boss The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) says the country’s taxpayers will soon increase to 45 million. Mr Wahab Gbadamosi, the Head, Communications and SERVICOM Department, in a statement in Abuja on Monday said the Executive Secretary, Joint Tax Board (JTB), Mr Oseni Elamah, disclosed this at the presentation of the new Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) Registration System report. The report was presented to the Executive Chairman of FIRS, Babatunde Fowler, who is also the Chairman of the JTB. Elama said that as at December, 2018, Nigeria’s tax payers data base expanded from 20 million to 35 million. Speaking with ONE WORD on Monday, Frank Mba, force spokesman, said Adeleke was detained in connection with ongoing criminal investigations against him. ONE WORD had reported how the police detained Adeleke, who was candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2018 governorship election in Osun state. Man stabs friend to death over argument

The suspect Adejoke Adeleye /Abeokuta A 28-year old man, Oni Olohunwa has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for culpable homicide. The suspect was arrested following a report by Wasiu Raheem who took the stabbed victim to the Ogijo Police Station. According to Raheem, the suspect and the victim were both attending a party, but the victim got drunk and started misbehaving. While the suspect was trying to caution him, an argument ensued between them and the suspect brought out a knife with which he stabbed the deceased in the chest and back. On the strength of the report, the DPO Ogijo Division CSP Baba Muhammed detailed his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested. Meanwhile, the victim, Baraka Taiwo was rushed to a nearby hospital but died while receiving treatment. His corpse has been deposited at OOUTH Sagamu for post mortem examination.
