Paul Pogba is not for sale : Manchester United

Image
Manchester United insist that midfielder Paul Pogba is not for sale despite the Frenchman's public admission over the weekend that he is looking for a "new challenge" this summer. Pogba, though, has made his stance clear, saying in Japan on Sunday: “For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else. “After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well...I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else. I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.” Pogba joined United three seasons ago, but has been the subject of intense interest from Real Madrid and Juventus in recent weeks. The Italian champions have held meetings about potentially signing the player, while Zinedine Zidane, Los Blancos' coach, has revealed publicly that he would like to sign Pogba on more t...

It quoted the governor as directing the commission to look into the immediate and remote circumstances surrounding the allegation and “unearth everything surrounding the incident.” The animal was said to have swallowed N6.8 million generated by the Zoo as gate fees collected from visitors of the garden, particularly during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

Arsenal 'open talks with Manchester United target Thomas Meunier

Image
Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with Manchester United transfer target Thomas Meunier.  it was reported earlier this month that United had held more discussions over a potential £22million transfer for the right back. But Arsenal are also keen on the Belgian international and Arsenal manager Unai Emery has expressed his interest to Meunier, according to French outlet RMC. However PSG reportedly want £27m plus bonuses for the defender and that could prevent the Gunners from being able to land Meunier. Emery has a limited transfer budget - just £45m - to rebuild his squad this summer after his side missed out on qualifying for the Champions League last campaign.   Arsenal are reportedly looking to sign a central defender and a left back rather than a right full back. Meunier made 31 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit last season in which he bagged five goals and supplied seven assists.

Super Eagles lose to Senegal in friendly

Image
The Nigeria national team lost 1-0 to Senegal in their final preparatory game for the Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday. While many are happy that the Super Eagles played a quality opposition in Senegal, not all are pleased with the decision to have the game played behind closed doors. A cross section of fans expressed a desire to see the Super Eagles show their stuff yet again before the tournament in Egypt kicks off in few days time. While the choice of closed-door games is not strange in the build-up to big tournaments like the AFCON, it hasn’t been popular among the teams heading to Egypt for the continental football showpiece. The likes of Tunisia have even opted to throw the gates open and have their fans come watch for free their last test match against Burundi Monday before going in for the tournament in Egypt. Before Sunday’s game, the last time Nigeria and Senegal clashed at senior level was on March 23, 2017, at The Hive (home of Barnet FC and London Bees) in London....

We will never allow Ambode to become a minister

Image
Following reports that President Muhammadu Buhari is considering the former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode as a minister in his second term, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has vowed not to allow the presidency to reward Ambode’s disloyalty. Herald Nigeria gathered that the position is being fronted by party men loyal to the National Leader of the ruling party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the same group that edged our Ambode in favour of Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Top party chiefs in the Mandate Group accused the ex-governor of frustrating many party members in Lagos State during his tenure and there was, therefore, the need “to teach him a lesson.” Consequently, the aggrieved party men were said to be making moves to petition the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over Ambode’s alleged financial misappropriation and corruption. One of the party sources, who spoke to The Punch, said, “Ambode tried to destroy the party in his first term. Apart from...
