Gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele has praised God after he became the first artist to have triplets after 25 years of marriage. Yinka celebrates birth of his triplets 51-year-old Nigerian gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele, has celebrated the birth of his triplets after being childless for 25 years. The triplets were born in June. The singer spoke at an annual gospel programme organised by Love of Christ Generation Church C&S London tagged ‘The Comforter.’The event which held on Saturday at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, was spearheaded by the church’s founder, Esther Ajayi. Esther Ajayi., who is popularly called  ‘Iya Adura,’  is famed for giving veteran actors, Baba Suwe and Alabi Yellow, N10 million lifeline each which aided their recent medical treatments.  Ex-Big Brother Africa Star, Tayo Faniran, has been granted bail and released from police custody after appearing in court today. This follows an altercation he had with the South African Police on Thursday after he was allegedly stopped for a search. The 33-year-old who captured the encounter live via Instagram, insisted that he would not ride in the police vehicle to the station, after he allegedly denied them access to search his phone. The situation later escalated when more officers arrived at the scene and forcefully took him away and detained him. The Association of Foreign Relations Professionals of Nigeria (AFRPN) has urged the Federal Government to demand justice for the killing of its citizens living abroad in line with the country’s foreign policy. President of AFRPN, Amb. Gani Lawal, gave the advice on Thursday in Abuja during a pre-event briefing on the Second Annual Lecture of the association scheduled to hold on July 31 in Abuja. Lawal said that one of the objectives of Nigeria’s foreign policy was for the government to ensure the protection of Nigerians living in other countries and to demand for justice in the case of death or harm. Sensex, Nifty Snap Six-Day Losing Streak Led By Auto, Banking Shares

The S&P BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 Indexes snapped their six-day losing streak, the longest stretch of losses for benchmarks in over two months, led by gains in auto and banking heavyweights like ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, Yes Bank, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto. In the last six trading sessions, Sensex fell as much as 1,385 points or 3.53 per cent and the Nifty 50 Index dropped as much as 435 points or 3.72 per cent. The Sensex ended 52 points or 0.14 per cent higher at 37,883 and the NSE Nifty 50 Index advanced 0.29 per cent or 32 points to 11,284. Twelve of 19 sector gauges compiled by BSE ended higher led by the S&P BSE Auto Index's nearly 2 per cent gain. Banking, capital goods, consumer durables, industrials, healthcare, finance and consumer discretionary goods and services sector gauges also advanced between 0.5 and 1 per cent each. COMMENT On the other hand, S&P BSE Energy Index was top loser, down 1 per cent.

Body of Precious Owolabi being lowered into the grave yesterday The tears could not be stopped, from colleagues at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), relatives and well-wishers as the body of Precious Owolabi, a corps member attached to Channels Television, who died during the Shi’ites’ protest in Abuja on Monday, was lowered into the grave. The coffin was draped with the Nigerian flag and his complete NYSC uniform. The 21-year-old was buried yesterday in Wusasa cemetery, Zaria in Kaduna State. DCP Usman Musa and Owolabi were among those that lost their lives in the protest. Owolabi died after a stray bullet hit him during the Shi’ites’ clash with the police around the Federal Secretariat in Abuja. While his body was committed to mother earth, the deceased’s mother expressed shock over his death, saying her son said he was going to be famous.
