Nigeria Records 649 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Infections Exceed 22, 000

Nigeria has recorded 649 new COVID-19 cases in the country as total infections from the virus rose to 22, 020. This was confirmed on Wednesday night by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). According to the health agency, new cases were reported in 21 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. Statistics from the NCDC shows that Lagos remains the epicentre of the virus with 250 cases, closely followed by Oyo State with 100 cases. Similarly, Plateau and Delta both have 40 cases. Other states with reported cases are Abia (28), Kaduna (27), Ogun (22), Edo (20), Akwa Ibom (18) and Kwara (17). While Imo and Kano reported fewer cases with one each, Enugu recorded 14 cases, Niger and Adamawa both share 13 cases. Nigeria Records Eight New COVID-19 Deaths, 452 Fresh Cases

Nigeria has recorded eight new COVID-19 deaths and 452 fresh cases in the country. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this on Tuesday via Twitter. NCDC confirmed the new cases in 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Giving a breakdown of the figures, Lagos leads other states with 209 cases, followed by Oyo with 67 cases and Delta with 37 cases. Similarly, Ogun recorded 36 cases, Abia (20), Enugu (16), Bauchi (15). Meanwhile, Kaduna and Ondo recorded 8 cases respectively, Osun (7) with Benue and Imo each recording (3) cases. While the FCT has 22 cases, Borno, however, has the least figure with just 1 case. This brings the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country to 21,371 with the number of discharged patients to 7, 338. Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Exceed 20,000 With 436 Fresh Infections

Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases have exceeded 20,000 as the country recorded 436 new infections on Sunday. The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in a tweet. According to the agency, of the new cases, 169 were recorded in Lagos, 52 in Oyo and 31 in Plateau. Other affected states are  Imo with 29 cases, Kaduna with 28, Ogun with 23, the FCT and Enugu with 18 each, Bauchi with 17, Bayelsa with 14, Rivers with eight, Osun and Kano with six each, Edo and Benue with five each, Adamawa with three, Borno with two, and Abia and Ekiti states with one each. The NCDC also noted that a total of 6,879 patients have recovered and have been discharged, while the death toll now stands at 518. Nigeria Records 661 More COVID-19 Cases, Deaths Exceed 500

Nigeria has recorded 661 more positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) – one of the highest figures reported so far in the country. This was confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in a tweet on Saturday night, saying 19 more people died of complications related to the virus. Giving a further update on the outbreak of the disease, the health agency noted that the new cases were reported in 13 states across the country and the Federal Capital Territory. It added that Nigeria now has a total of 19,808 confirmed cases of COVID-19, out of which 6,718 have been discharged with 506 others dead. Of the new cases, Lagos has the highest with 230 infections, followed by Rivers and Delta States which reported 127 and 83 more cases respectively. Nigeria on Friday recorded 667 new cases of the novel coronavirus pushing its total infections past the 19,000 mark, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
