GENERAL Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye who turned 77 years old on Saturday dropped a bombshell Sunday, saying that the Sunday morning thanksgiving at the Redemption Camp could have been a memorial service, suggesting he may have escaped death recently.

Without giving details, the Ifewara, Osun State-born Applied Mathematician who worked as a mathematics lecturer at the universities of Lagos and Ilorin before heeding the call into the ministry as a full time preacher, announced to an ecstatic crowd of worshippers that but for God he would not have been with them.
“But for God, I won’t be alive today! But for God, this would have been a memorial service. Can somebody help shout Halelujah! Don’t try to find out the details, just keep on praising God,” the General Overseer stated, saying that a fellow General Overseer visited him not too long ago and was giving testimonies of God has been doing in his ministry.
“It’s all testimonies that you can share in public. You share some of them, people would wonder. I remember telling some of my children some moments ago that a certain General Overseer visited me not too long ago and he began to share all that God had done in his ministry and I kept on saying ‘wonderful, praise God, Glory be to God.’
“After about one hour, he said; ‘Daddy, I am the only talking; you have not said anything.’ And I told him, Sir, if I tell you everything God has been doing for me, you will say God is partial. And that’s why some of us can’t say it all. You have to keep some of them.
“But there is one particular point that I must make this morning, I won’t give you the details, but for God, I won’t be alive today. This would have been a memorial service. But for God! Will somebody help me shout Halleluyah,” he told the crowd at the 3 kilometre by 3 kilometre auditorium at the Shimawa area of Ogun State with an unusual calmness that left his listeners confused.
Adeboye who had devoted the last one week of the Special Holy Ghost Service with a theme; “Swimming in Glory 3” to mark his 77th birthday, to intercessory prayers for God to have mercy on Nigeria and all the countries of the world, also offered prayers for the church members who were at the Redemption Camp without a hint of what happened to him.
Thanking all the departments that made the Special Holy Ghost Service a huge success, Pastor Adeboye announced that a total of 12 babies were born during the last three days of the service which was earlier rescheduled for next weekend because of the Governorship/State Assembly elections earlier fixed for March 2, 2019.
Earlier during the unique Friday night service with a theme, “Swimming in Glory 3,” the wife of the General Overseer, Pastor (Mrs.) Foluke Adeboye had led the crowd of worshippers to thank God for the recent presidential/National Assembly election which was adjudged to be peaceful.
“Our father told us before the elections to cry unto God for mercy. We need to open our mouths to thank God for the mercy He has shown us. If not for His mercy only God knows where Nigeria would be now. Let us be grateful and celebrate His compassion,” she prayed, asking for a continuation of more mercy in the new voyage.
She also prayed that in the new farming season, God should take away flood from every part of the nation and give the nation’s farmers increase and bountiful harvest this year.
If you don’t vote, don’t complain after polls, Adeboye tells Nigerian
