'I'd be very sad if Hazard leaves' - Willian wants winger to stay at Chelsea

Chelsea forward Willian admits he would be "very sad" if Eden Hazard were to leave the club this summer.

Real Madrid are thought to be keen on sealing a deal for Hazard, who only has one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international, who this month confirmed he had decided his future and informed the club, could therefore make his final appearance for Chelsea in Wednesday's Europa League final against Arsenal in Baku.

And Blues boss Maurizio Sarri said this week he will respect Hazard's decision if he wants to leave.

Asked if it would be good to send Hazard out with a trophy, a smiling Willian told Sky Sports : "It's difficult to say [anything] about this situation because we do not know what is going to happen.

"What I can say is if he goes, I am going to be very sad."

Willian has found his opportunities limited at times this season with Hazard, Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi all competing for starting spots.

Winning the Europa League is Arsenal's last chance to qualify for next season's Champions League, but Cesar Azpilicueta hopes to claim the title with Chelsea for the second time.

"It's a trophy, it's big for them because it means they'd go into the Champions League. It's a trophy, it's a derby obviously so we're looking forward to it," said Azpilicueta.

"It means a lot [to lift the trophy as captain]. I'm hungry for success, to win the Europa League. The Europa League was my first trophy with Chelsea in Amsterdam [in 2013] and this one would mean a lot. Hopefully we can win it."

The build-up to the final in Baku has been somewhat shrouded in controversy due to the location.

Arsenal midfielder will not travel to Azerbaijan due to fears over his safety as an Armenian national.

And only 6,000 supporters are set to make the trip from London, meaning less than 10 per cent of the attendance will be made up of supporters from either Arsenal or Chelsea.

Those complications have led to some players and onlookers poking holes UEFA's choice of venue, with Blues winger Pedro among those to point out the problems.

The League of Patriotic Lawyers has given Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olusegun Odumosu, 24 hours to unravel those behind the torture and insertion of pepper into a girl’s private part in Benin City over alleged stealing of a mobile phone.  Chairman of the platform and former Student Union President of the University of Benin, Mr. Abubakar Yesufu, who said this in a statement yesterday, also urged the state Director, Department of State Services, DSS, to be involved in the investigation.
