England fans were left outraged after seeing Cameroon's Augustine Ejangue spit on Toni Duggan during Sunday's World Cup last-16 showdown.
The incident took place in the 13th minute as the referee awarded the Lionesses an indirect free-kick on the edge of the six-yard box following a back-pass from Aurelle Awona.
Cameroon were not happy with the decision and Ejangue proceeded to let herself down with an unsavoury moment.
As winger Duggan appealed to the referee, Ejangue could be seen spitting on her arm from behind.
Duggan felt it and looked disgusted as she turned around and confronted the defender before pointing out the saliva on her arm to the official.
Ejangue escaped unpunished, however, leading fans to question why VAR was not brought into action to give her what would have surely been a red card.
Nonetheless, Duggan was soon smiling as Steph Houghton made the most of the free-kick, curling the ball into the bottom corner despite all 11 Cameroon players being on the line.
Duggan pointed it out to referee Qin Liang (2nd left) but Ejangue escaped unpunished
