Mourinho has held talks with China's most influential football figure - Hui Jiayin
Jose Mourinho has reportedly held talks with China's richest man over a remarkable return into management
If the Chinese Super League manages to get their man, then Mourinho would be their most high-profile managerial appointment ahead of the likes of Rafa Benitez, Fabio Capello and Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Mourinho, who was seen at Wimbledon on Thursday, recently admitted he wanted to return to management: 'I have a lot of qualities and one of them is to respect other clubs and their management.
'I have never spoken like, "This club wanted me, they contacted me".
'When I left Manchester United in December, I immediately took the decision I want to work from the summer.
'I hope to be back to work in July in a project I really like.'
And Mr Hui is eager to bring over the biggest names in world football to China.
The report claims that the billionaire real estate developer held positive talks with Mourinho and has since had further discussions with intermediaries.
It also reports that the former Chelsea, United, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Porto manager is close to taking up the opportunity to resume his career in China.
Mourinho has been waiting patiently since his Old Trafford dismissal in December but he could now be in a job sooner rather than later.
