Real Madrid are desperate to include Gareth Bale in a potential deal for Paul Pogba

Real Madrid want to use Gareth Bale in deal to sign Paul Pogba from Man United, Zinedine Zidane remains hopeful of offloading Bale and signing Pogba from Man United


Madrid boss Zidane remains hopeful of securing Pogba's services, which he believes will be key to help transforming his side following last season's trophyless campaign.

The Spanish giants have already splashed out a staggering £344m on new recruitments this summer, but are prepared to delve deeper into their pockets even if they fail Pogba.

Ajax's Donny van de Beek is one of several players who have been identified as a possible alternative for the United star.

Pogba is understood to be desperate to move to the Spanish capital this summer but whether or not Bale's inclusion in a deal changes United's stance is yet to be seen.

The 26-year-old's agent Mino Raiola has twice travelled to Manchester to communicate his client's intention to depart England, while Madrid's directors have been met with resistance by United officials.

Pogba is expected to ask boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if he can leave when he returns for pre-season next Friday before submitting a transfer request.

Pogba is understood to be desperate to move to the Spanish capital this summer but whether or not Bale's inclusion in a deal changes United's stance is yet to be seen.

Zidane has told the Welshman he does not feature in his plans for next season but the forward's future remains unclear with no suitable suitors as things stand.

The League of Patriotic Lawyers has given Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olusegun Odumosu, 24 hours to unravel those behind the torture and insertion of pepper into a girl’s private part in Benin City over alleged stealing of a mobile phone.  Chairman of the platform and former Student Union President of the University of Benin, Mr. Abubakar Yesufu, who said this in a statement yesterday, also urged the state Director, Department of State Services, DSS, to be involved in the investigation. A video of the incident, seen by Vanguard yesterday, showed the girl being stripped naked by a group of people, who inserted pepper into her private parts for allegedly stealing a phone.
