NCAA threatens to sanction debtor telecom operators

LAGOS—THE  Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Wednesday, threatened to sanction telecom operators over N1 billion naira debt owed the agency over the years. Despite several warning letters, the operators have allegedly refused to pay their outstanding debts According to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs) Part 12.1.7.1.11, ‘the Aviation Height Clearance, AHC, shall remain in force for a period of one year when it shall be due for renewal unless suspended or cancelled by the authority. Similarly, the holder of an AHC certificate shall ensure proper records of AHC granted to it and the renewal of the AHC at least 30 days to the expiry date. MSSN files fresh case against Ogun govt on use of hijab in public schools

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has filed a fresh case at the Ogun State High Court sitting at Isabo, Abeokuta, asking the court to order the Ogun State Government to allow the use of hijab by willing female Muslim students in public primary and secondary schools in the state. DAILY POST recalls that nine-year-old Aisha AbdulAleem had last year sued the principal of Gateway Secondary School, Mrs A.A Kushimo, and Ogun State Government over forceful removal of her hijab and denial of right to education. APC government has failed Nigerians. I don’t think there will be election on February 23 2019 again. Everybody is calling on the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to step down. LAGOS—HUMAN  rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, Wednesday, flayed Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, who he said confirmed that the general elections will be a do or die affair. Responding to el-Rufai’s “body bag” threat, Falana said the prosecution of the governor will commence as soon as his tenure is over.
