Justice Jonn Okoro, in a lead judgment, held that the appellant failed to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt. “The appellant has failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt the allegations made against the 1st respondent, therefore the case is hereby dismissed and cost of N200,000 awarded in favour of the first and second respondents. The Chairman of the FCT chapter of the association, Dr Philips Ekpe, said in Chibiri during the medical outreach that the body chose the community following media reports that people in the area were in dire need of medical attention. He said the reports indicated that Chibiri community would not accept medical doctors to give them injection, especially when their children were convulsing. He, therefore, noted that the NMA outreach in the community was to educate the people about their basic health needs and hygiene. Kyari disclosed this when he received the Chairman and members of the special Presidential Investigative Panel for the Recovery of Public Property in Abuja on Monday, In a statement issued by Mr Ndu Ughamadu, the spokesman for the corporation, he said that the NNPC had nothing to hide as it stood to gain a lot by being transparent in all areas of its operation. A Kaduna State High Court presided over by Justice Darius Khobo has fixed August 5, 2019, for ruling on the bail application filed by the detained leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and Zeenat, his wife. The duo are standing trial for alleged culpable homicide, disturbance of public peace and criminal conspiracy, among other charges. They have been in detention since December 2015, following a clash between IMN members and the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna State. Over 300 people, mainly Zakzaky’s followers and a soldier were killed during the clashes. Counsel to the IMN leader, Mr. Femi Falana, had filed the bail application seeking the release of his clients to seek medical attention following their deteriorating health condition. The incident occurred last Thursday. The actress, who came to perform hajj, fell ill due to the stress associated with the hajj exercise. The Nation  reporter in Saudi Arabia had observed that Afolabi has been showing symptoms of illness while in Madinah. She was seen sleeping in the bus during Ziyara (visitation to historical sites).
