Queen Elizabeth Just Gave Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Another New Home

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, may have just moved into Frogmore Cottage, but that isn’t stopping them from collecting new homes.

Queen Elizabeth reportedly gifted the couple another new home, this time inside Buckingham Palace. The new home, the Daily Mail reported, will act as a home base for the couple and their newborn son, Archie, whenever they are in London.

According to a source who spoke to the Daily Mail, it is standard procedure for Royals living outside the capital to be given somewhere they can stay in London. For example, the source added, Princes Andrew and Edward both have accommodations in the Palace but live outside the city like Harry and Meghan.

The couple’s permanent home is just 30 miles from the city. However, it can become a traffic and strategic nightmare for the royals and their staff who need to frequently travel to London for meetings and events.

The exact location of the couple’s new home in Buckingham remains a closely guarded secret. It is unknown how close their residence will be to the Queen.

Beyond this new space, the couple appears to be done with renovations to their home Frogmore. The couple reportedly spent £3 million ($3.8 million) of taxpayer money on structural renovations. Of that, about $65,000 was spent to soundproof the home from planes flying into nearby Heathrow Airport.

The couple did, however, foot the bill for the interior of the home. According to The Mirror, the pair even hired designer Vicky Charles, who designed the Soho Farmhouse, to turn their house into a home.

The house reportedly now includes a gym, yoga room, and a gender-neutral nursery for baby Archie.

But, hopefully, this second space for the family means Harry, Meghan, and Archie will be able to spend even more time with their extended family network including Archie’s cousins, Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte.

The League of Patriotic Lawyers has given Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olusegun Odumosu, 24 hours to unravel those behind the torture and insertion of pepper into a girl’s private part in Benin City over alleged stealing of a mobile phone.  Chairman of the platform and former Student Union President of the University of Benin, Mr. Abubakar Yesufu, who said this in a statement yesterday, also urged the state Director, Department of State Services, DSS, to be involved in the investigation.
